๐ฏ PrepSnap
1. Introduction
Arcovate Tech builds Chrome extensions that help professionals work smarter. We are committed to transparency, minimal data collection, and protecting your privacy.
By using any Arcovate Tech extension, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Data Collection and Usage
2.1 Meeting Transcripts (MeetSnap)
MeetSnap only processes data when you explicitly click "Start Capturing".
- Captions are read directly from the Google Meet page
- Stored temporarily using Chrome local storage on your device
- Never transmitted to our servers
- Sent to Groq API only when you click "Generate Follow-Up"
- Automatically deleted from local storage after processing
2.2 Job Description Data (PrepSnap)
PrepSnap only processes data when you explicitly submit a job description.
- Job description text is sent to Groq API to generate your interview prep pack
- Not stored on our servers at any point
- Never used for any purpose beyond generating your requested output
2.3 Local Usage Data
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Number of summaries or prep packs generated
- Subscription status (free/paid)
- User consent confirmation
- Theme preference
This data never leaves your device.
2.4 Payment Processing
Payments are handled securely by Gumroad. We do not collect or store any payment details. See Gumroad Privacy Policy.
2.5 Pro License Verification
When you enter your purchase email to unlock Pro features, that email is sent to our verification system (Supabase) solely to confirm your Pro license. It is not used for marketing, tracking, or any other purpose, and is not stored beyond the verification check.
2.6 Google Account Access via OAuth (MeetSnap)
When you use the automatic "Send Notes to Email" feature in MeetSnap, the extension requests access to your Google account via OAuth to deliver your meeting notes directly to you.
We request the following Google API scopes:
auth/documents โ to create a Google Doc in your Drive with your meeting notes
auth/drive.file โ to manage only the specific files MeetSnap creates, nothing else in your Drive
auth/gmail.send โ to send a single email to your own Gmail address with a link to your notes Doc
auth/userinfo.email โ to fetch your email address so the notes can be delivered to you
auth/userinfo.profile โ to personalise the email greeting with your first name
Important clarifications about Google data:
- Your Google OAuth token is used only within your browser session
- We never store your Google token, email, or Drive data on our servers
- The Doc is created in your own Google Drive โ we do not have ongoing access to it
- The email is sent from your own Gmail account to yourself โ we do not send emails to anyone else
- Your Google data is never shared with any third party
- Your Google data is never used for advertising, analytics, or AI training
MeetSnap's use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Permissions Justification
Our extensions request only the minimum permissions required to function:
- activeTab and host permissions (meet.google.com): To read live captions strictly from Google Meet tabs
- storage: To temporarily store transcript and usage data locally on your device
- sidePanel: To display the generated summaries and interface within Chrome's side panel
- identity: To authenticate with Google OAuth so meeting notes can be saved to your Drive and emailed to you automatically โ used only when you trigger the Send Notes feature
No permissions are used for tracking, background surveillance, or any purpose beyond the stated features.
4. Third-Party Services
